Good afternoon everyone! I hope you have all been well. Today I have a wonderful set of blue nails to share with you guys. Earlier this month I was at Sally's doing some secret santa shopping and this one bottle of Orly was calling my name as I attempted to shop. In the end the Orly won and I purchased it. Boy am I glad I did because this is by far my favorite blue glitter ever!

52 Week Challenge: Week 4 Gradient or Ombre
Hello everyone! Hope you guys are having an amazing day! Today I have my Week 4 challenge, gradient or ombre. I have never personally done an ombre pattern where each nail is a different color, so I picked this option for my challenge. The obvious color choice was blue and it turned out awesome.
It actually took me some time to pick out the perfect colors. I would pick one but as soon as I paired it with the other color choices I would notice one had more purple or green tints. I ended up with 5 lovely blue colors that worked perfectly with each other.
Icing J'adore, Julep Claire, Sinful Colors Why Not, Finger Paints Inkblot Blue, and Julep Eloise
I was pretty happy with the results but me being me, I wanted something else. All of the polishes were a cream base but had a finish shine difference. Solution.....matte it! I recently acquired the Butter London Matte Finish but hadn't had a chance to use it yet, here was my opportunity.
I love it! The colors mate even better now. The Butter London matte went on super smooth and dried surprisingly quick. My pinky nail looked almost black before but adding the matte brought the blue tones out better.

I am glad I have this blog to make note of this color combo because I will certainly use again. The colors worked great together and the matte was an awesome finish touch. I hope you guys are enjoying the 52 Week Challenge, I know I am! Have a great day everyone and I'll see you soon.

Etsy Shop of the Week: Daring Digits
Good afternoon everyone! This week I have another great custom nail polish shop, Daring Digits. Ashley has some pretty awesome blends at a very reasonable price and she even ships international. I selected two different polishes from her line up and both are amazing quality. Glitter in both were a perfect amount and the formula was super easy to apply. Daring Digits is running a pretty sweet promo right now until 9/22/12, all full size bottles are $5! Selection is a little low right now but she will be restocking later this week and I certainly have my eye on a few other bottles for my collection.
First up I have for you is Sugar Water Purple. This blend is a sheer white base with two different size purple and black glitter. Again this polish is sheer so I decided to use my Finger Paints Paper Mache as a base to give a solid appearance. I must say this turned out perfect!
I must say I am in love with Daring Digits and hope to own many more from her. Please take a moment to check out her shop. If you decide to make a purchase, which I highly recommend with the amazing special, be sure to mention Model City in the comments section at checkout and she will include a free mini bottle of Fallen Leaves!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! It's a pleasure to have you guys, you are my inspiration! Have a great week and see ya next time.

I am loving her new bottles and logo.
The purple pair well together.
The layering is perfect and gives great depth to the finish.
This was one coat of Paper Mache and then two coats of Sugar Water Purple. Topped off with quick dry top coat.
Next is Blueberry Square, of course I would pick a blue. This one is more of a top coat only and I spent a lot of time trying to pair with the perfect color. I was torn between an orange base and a green base so my husband was the decision maker and went with the green, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy. The final results remind me of spring with the green grass, the blue skies, and the sparse white clouds.

The glitter looks beautiful floating in its base.
This was just one coat of Blueberry Square.
I am in love with the color combo and will certainly wear this again.

These were sent to me for review purposes but doesn't not influence my post in any way.

Zoya Mimi and Finger Paints Motley
Good afternoon and welcome to my first post. I hope to overtime inspire other people, teach a few things, and learn somethings along the way. Not only is this blog for me but it is for other fellow lacqueristas out there. I always would love to hear your thoughts and opinions so please share. Now time for the good stuff.
Today I am going to show you two that I have had for sometime and truly enjoy, Zoya Mimi and Finger Paints Motley. First up is Mimi. This is such a pretty color of purple packed full of sparkle. It is a little dark but still a very fun color.

To achieve this look I have on three coats of Mimi followed with a quick dry top coat.
Next up I will top off Mimi with Finger Paints Motley. This one is a blue/green flake. I am a huge fan of flake nail polish. To me the best part of a flake is the fact you can wear nice glitter polish with out the pain of later removal. Flakes come off super easy with non-acetone remover.

For some reason this combo reminds me of a Trapper Keeper I had in grade school. Ah, I thought I was the coolest. If you are interested in Zoya Mimi you can purchase it directly through Zoya. Finger Paints Flakes are discontinued but with enough looking I am sure you could find one online. If you guys have any suggestion on what you would like to see more or less of please let me know. Thanks and have a great evening!
