My First Set of Holiday Nails and Giveaway from Joby

Hello everyone!  Well today is officially the start to the most awesome month of the year!  It's Christmas time and that means tons of holiday inspire manis.  Today I am going to share a set of nails that I did to celebrate this wonderful month.  I love snowmen so I figured that would be the best way to kick off the month.  You know what's even better...... a free set of decals for you too!  First the pics....

To achieve my first set of holiday nails I used my much loved Icing J'adore, Savvy Touch of Glitter, and two decals from my Joby Christmas nail stickers.  I am a huge fan of decals.  They are always super easy to use and are great when you are in a hurry but want that extra oomph.  To apply stickers I use a set of tweezers and gently place on my nail.  Slightly press the sticker on to the nail to position and keep in place.  I then follow up with a clear top coat to smooth things out.  Be sure your polish is dry or you may end up pulling your polish around when placing sticker.

There are sooo many cute stickers!

The sticker had a glitter finish to it that matched perfectly to my Touch of Glitter by Savvy.

Come on, isn't he the cutest?!

Awwwwwww!

Now Joby was nice enough to send me an extra set of stickers and discount code to share with one of my readers.  I think these would be perfect for a great Valentine inspired mani or any other times you wanted to share your love with the world.

To enter all you have to do is leave a comment in this post.  I will then pick a number by random and which ever comment that matches to will win.  Easy enough.  Just be sure you are a follower of my blog and this contest is open to my international followers too.  I will run this contest until Dec. 5th.  Good luck ladies!  Also don't forget to enter for this months Super Awesome Indie Christmas Giveaway and be sure to stop by tomorrow to see one of the shops that donated as my Etsy feature.  Have a great day everyone!

Go Pink on Wednesday

Hello everyone!  Hope you have all been well.  Today I have another set of awesome pink nails for you guys.  I was never a big pink color fan but a few months back I received Julep Lauren in one of my Maven boxes and fell in love.  This pink is like no other pink I have ever seen before.  Lauren is a cream base and on the verge of being neon.  Application is perfect ever time and take just two coats to get solid coverage.

I love this color!

New photo angle for you guys.

Two coats and flawless

Next I decided to pair it with an Icing Duo that I had bought on clearance but yet to use.  Personally I hate the bottle.  Sometime I like to just place the brush on the bottle for various reasons but with this bottle it immediately falls over due to the weight.  Also if one side is stuck it is a pain to loosen because the other side easily spins.  This one also had a unpleasant odor.  All the negatives aside, I do like the polish itself.  The gold and pink glitter are very pretty and distribute wonderfully.  The pink side that I used is called Love Spell.

One coat and great coverage

The sparkle is a nice pop against this pink

This would be a great summer combo for the beach.

So there you guys go, another set of pink nails in the book.  I am having so much fun coming up with great pink combos for you guys and also checking out everyone else's pink nails.  I hope to take part in many more blogger challenges in the future.  I hope you all have a great day and look forward to seeing you guys again real soon.  Remember, you guys rock!

52 Week Challenge: Week 4 Gradient or Ombre

Hello everyone!  Hope you guys are having an amazing day!  Today I have my Week 4 challenge, gradient or ombre.  I have never personally done an ombre pattern where each nail is a different color, so I picked this option for my challenge.  The obvious color choice was blue and it turned out awesome.

It actually took me some time to pick out the perfect colors.  I would pick one but as soon as I paired it with the other color choices I would notice one had more purple or green tints.  I ended up with 5 lovely blue colors that worked perfectly with each other.

Icing J'adore, Julep Claire, Sinful Colors Why Not, Finger Paints Inkblot Blue, and Julep Eloise

I was pretty happy with the results but me being me, I wanted something else.  All of the polishes were a cream base but had a finish shine difference.  Solution.....matte it!  I recently acquired the Butter London Matte Finish but hadn't had a chance to use it yet, here was my opportunity.

I love it!  The colors mate even better now.  The Butter London matte went on super smooth and dried surprisingly quick.  My pinky nail looked almost black before but adding the matte brought the blue tones out better.

I am glad I have this blog to make note of this color combo because I will certainly use again.  The colors worked great together and the matte was an awesome finish touch.  I hope you guys are enjoying the 52 Week Challenge, I know I am!  Have a great day everyone and I'll see you soon.

Icing J'adore and NYC Matte Me Crazy

Good evening everyone!  Tonight I have one that I have owned for a few months and one I purchased this week.  Also I am going to give a try to hand placing glitter tonight.  Love to know your thoughts on this one.

First up is the oldie, Icing's J'adore.  This is such a pretty baby blue cream with a hint of green in certain lighting.  J'adore has a great milky finish that I just love.  This polish goes on super smooth and only took two coats to get a solid finish.

Only two coats and looks great!

Now time for NYC Matte Me Crazy.  I have been hunting for a good matte top coat for some time now.  I really wanted to find Essie Matte About You but it was no where to be found locally.  This week I went to Target to do some of my weekly shopping and finally caved in and bought NYC brand.  For $2 I wasn't expecting much and boy was I surprised.  This stuff is great!!!!!  It went on super easy and dried at a reasonable speed.  I normally use fast dry top coats so it was hard to sit still but I managed to do it.  Either way I am going to make another trip to Target and buy a few spare bottles because I know I am going to use this one a lot.  Time for pics.

First time adding loose glitter so it's not perfect but still pretty darn cute.

As you can see I have a slight smudge, I just can't sit still!

So there you go, cheap matte polish is awesome!  If you like the look of matte polish I recommend buying this top coat.  Thanks again and hope you guys have a great night!
