Etsy Shop of the Week: Digital Doodle Bug

Good afternoon everyone!  Today's post is going to have a little bit of everything.  I have a great shop to show you, a bottle of Model City Polish, and my week 3 nails.  First up the shop.

I have been using Digital Doodle Bug for sometime now and their service is awesome!  All of my labels I use come straight from here.  Ashley is really on top of things and is super quick at shipping out, which is great in a pinch.  Every order has been flawless.  She also offers many other unique label options that are great for advertising or party favors.  She is currently on vacation but will be opening shop back up on the 29th.  You can browse her sales history if you'd like an idea of what all she has to offer.

Now for my week 3 nails and a bottle of my own polish.  Week 3 is something inspire by Reddit and I was torn on what to share with you guys.  I finally decided on a bottle of my own polish.  How does this have anything to do with Reddit, you ask?  Well the lovely ladies over there is what inspired me to start creating my own polish line.  Teal Me Up is one of my first creations that I still love.

Teal Me Up is a teal colored base filled with teal colored fine glitter and black squares.  The teal base is transparent enough to show the black squares underneath but only take two coats for get full nail coverage.  It's a fun, funky polish the reminds me of all the awesome 80's tunes.

I love how the black square show through to the top layer.

The fine glitter adds a little extra sparkle.

So there you go.  I have now caught up with the 52 week challenge over on Reddit.  I look forward to trying out new stuff in the future.  This coming week is Gradient or Ombre nails, you know this one is going to consist of blues, haha!  I hope you all have an awesome day and look forward to seeing you again real soon.

Going Pink on Wednesday

Good day everyone!  I am back again with another set of pink nails.  Each Wednesday this month a group of bloggers and I have gone pink to help raise more awareness for breast cancer.  I am sure most of you by now are aware but did you know how easy it is this month to help out?  Lots of us live on tight budgets and don't think we could donate but it is so easy this month to help out and not spend any extra cash.  How you ask?  Well when you go out shopping this month for your regular household supplies, food, personal care, etc. look for specially marked packaging.  These vendors will donate preset amounts from their sales to many different foundations that help in the research or care of breast cancer.  If you shop at Walgreens they have made it super easy to donate cash by giving you the option at check out.  You select your amount and they just added it to your total.  It's that easy!  Now time for those pink nails.

I was asked by a friend last month to create her a pretty polish but didn't want anything glitter, I gladly accepted the challenge.  Now this friend has been through some rough times in the past few months but has stood strong and pushed through these problems to rise on top in the end.  I felt it would be appropriate to name this polish "Strength" after her.  Strength is a soft pink with the slightest rainbow glitter scattered through out.

This was only two coats.

Again, the glitter is such a soft touch but that needed sparkle we all must have.

If you like Strength then I would suggest heading over to Cosmetich and entering her amazing October giveaway!  You can also enter the Model City Polish giveaway, Giveaway tab in header, and pick this as one of your freebies.  Hope you all have a great day and remember, stay strong and you will end up on top.

Zoya Tallulah and Model City Daydream Believer

Hello everyone! Today I have one of my favorite blues paired with some holographic stars.  About this time last year I discovered Zoya and took advantage of a two free promotion they were running.  Tallulah was immediately my first pick with it's medium blue color and lovely shimmer.  I would certainly recommend following Zoya on Facebook to stay up to date on their promos and be the first to take advantage these awesome deals.

This blue is perfect for a blue lover.  The shimmer is a nice added bonus.

Next up is my Model City Polish Daydream Believer.  I may be bias but I love this top coat.  You just can't go wrong with silver glitter and holographic stars!  Let me share some tips when working with Daydream Believer or any other polish with large glitter or shapes.  First up, use a toothpick to position the large glitter perfectly and slightly press the glitter down on to the nail.  Secondly, use top coat.  I generally go with two good coats of clear and my favorite combo is one good coat of clear followed with my quick dry top coat.

Ah, I love it!

The stars make me want to go outside and just stare off into space.

So there you go, you now know my weakness.  Blue and stars!  Thanks for stopping by today and hope you enjoyed everything.  I am always trying to make my page better so if there is something you would like to see more or less of, please let me know.  Hope everyone has a great day!

Color Club Blue-Ming and Model City Marigold

Tonight I have a summer blend by Color Club and one from Model City.  The results weren't exactly what I was going for but ended up reminding me of an easter egg.  First up is Color Club Blue-ming.  I really was wanting this to be more of a sky blue color but ended up having a heavy green tint.  Color isn't bad just not what I had in mind.  Polish was ok to apply, nothing to rave about.  I received this as a mini in one of my Birchbox's and finally had the chance to use it.  On to the pics.

Blue-Ming

This was three coats with a fast dry top coat.

Again this color was more green than what I had wanted but still a nice color.  It was a vibrant color and had a very even finish.  I have a few Color Club bottles in my collection and are a decent brand.  Especially if you have a Ross close by, you can pick up 7 bottle packs for less than $10!

Next up is Marigold by Model City Polish.  I just went with one coat as a top coat.  The green hexes made the green of the polish stand out even more.  Marigold is just a fun quick top coat.  You can pick Marigold up at my etsy shop, Marigold.

Marigold

This was one generous coat of Marigold followed up with a fast dry top coat.

This certainly was not my favorite combo.  Maybe if it was closer to spring I could have enjoyed it more.  Not the summer feel I was looking for.

Thanks for stopping by and please let me know what you guys would like to see more or less of.  Starting Sunday will be my Etsy shop of the week.  I hope to over the next few months introduce the indie world a little more.  There are some great people on there making wonderful products and I would like to share my experience with them and their stuff.  Hope you guys will take a moment each week and take a look.  It's time to get back to the basics.  I like my commercially made items as much as the next person but there is something special about a homemade piece.  A majority of the stuff I have bought on there is better made, better customer service, and reasonably priced. Good evening everyone!

Limited Edition: Queen of Hearts

I have a new release for you guys today from Model City Polish.  This will be another limited edition blend with only 10 being made.  This is probably one of my favorite creations so far and I hope you guys feel the same.  On to the good stuff!

This blend is a milky white base that is packed with iridescent glitter, small and medium size black glitter, and cute red heart glitter.

Macro of Queen of Hearts

Now I swatched this one two ways so you can get the best idea of how it looks.  I wanted to show how this base is tinted enough to wear on its own or for some serious pop layer it over a white base.  First up is no base, just three coats followed up with a quick dry top coat.

Again this no undies.

You can see how the polish layers but is sheer enough for you to see the under coats.

Now my favorite way to wear this is with a white base.  I am normally not a big fan of heart blends.  Generally they are a clear base and just looks plain to me.  I wanted to go for something a little different then the rest of the guys and I think I have achieved this.  The blend really pops and reminds me of a deck of cards.  So much fun!!!

How freaking cute! I love it!

So there you go, I like heart polish now!  What do you guys thing?  This blend is available now on etsy, Queen of Hearts.  Thanks again for the inspiration. Hope to create more lovely blends in the future.
